My Vegan Indian meal.


My Yummy meal: brown rice, Indian curried soy with veggies, side salad (mixed greens, sprouted organic mung beans) & hot Jalapeno pepper. I made this all myself. Delish!



Meeting the Dalai Lama..

Like any other night before I drift off to dreamland, I sat down in my bed and meditated.  I was getting a bit tired and decided to continue my meditation laying down. I closed my eyes and focused on my it got deeper and slower, I began to feel lighter, more and more relaxed. After some time I was not in my bed anymore.

It was late evening, the sun was setting. The air was fresh, and it was very quiet. I felt a great sense of peace, I looked around and noticed a forest ahead of me, with what appears to be a path, without hesitation I rushed to the path and began to walk, I looked down at my feet and noticed I was barefoot.  Nevertheless, I kept walking and came upon a clearing. I looked ahead and saw a small fire, sort of like a campfire, and next to the fire was a figure…I decided to get a closer look, as I got closer a sense of joy filled my heart..tears of happiness flowed from my eyes like rain drops. I knew who was ahead of me…It was the Dalai Lama, not the current Dalai lama..the very first, Dalai Lama.


I instinctively knew what to do. As I approached nearer to him, I noticed a cushion opposite of him for me to sit. I sat in lotus position and just looked at him the eye and a beautiful conversation occurred…without using our voice.  I don’t remember the whole conversation. I remembered him saying “Focus on your body, When mind and body become one, then you will connect with the source”.

I smiled, closed my eyes and all of a sudden found my body lifting off the cushion. Can you believe? I was levitating. I laughed with such joy.

Recipe for Good Health – Turmeric Milk

According to the Journal of the American Chemical Society, turmeric contains a wide range of antioxidant, antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, anticarcinogenic, antimutagenic and anti-inflammatory properties. It is also loaded with many healthy nutrients such as protein, dietary fiber, niacin, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin K, sodium, potassium, calcium, copper, iron, magnesium and zinc. Due to all these factors, turmeric is often used to treat a wide variety of health problems. Such as, Prevents Alzheimer’s disease, improves digestion, relieves arthritis, controls diabetes, prevents liver disease, prevents cancers, Weight management, heals wounds, reduces cholesterol levels .   I have been using this recipe for the general health benefits and to help with inflammation and body aches and pains, I also use it during winter months to prevent colds and coughs. If you have lots of body aches and pain..then I recommend you use it for 40 days, then after that you can drink it once or twice a week etc..or whenever you feel like it. Now I drink when needed it could be once a month. The recipe below is how I make it. I use Demerara raw brown sugar found in my local caribbean grocery store, or you can use, stevia, raw honey or any other organic brown sugar. I use turmeric root, looks like ginger, but has an orange color on the inside I grate it like ginger and add to the water for boiling, if that is not available I use organic turmeric powder. I use more water to boil, because water will dissipate. I use 3/4 of my cup is turmeric water, and 1/4 cup is milk. This has really helped with bodily aches and pain, I remember when I couldn’t even get out of bed to walk, it would be too painful..not anymore 🙂

To make one 8 oz cup

1 teaspoon turmeric powder/or grated root

1.5-2 cups water

1/4 cup milk


nutmeg for taste optional

Add water, turmeric to water and bring to boil for 8-10 minutes, in a separate container bring to boil the milk for about 1-2 min. After boiling, strain the turmeric water mixture into your cup/mug add the milk, sweetener and nutmeg and enjoy 🙂
